The original principal chamber, kept almost exactly as the 1794 plans drew it — panelling, shutters, and a chimneypiece of local stone worn smooth at the corners.
A separate sitting room looks north over the parkland, which means long light in summer and, in winter, an entirely legitimate reason not to leave before lunch.
